Maximally effective IELTS preparation We start if your level is Upper-Intermediate or Advanced
Individual lessons from UAH 550
Business Language has been successfully preparing its clients for the IELTS exam for many years. Our qualified teachers hold the relevant certification and use the most up-to-date methods from Cambridge University and the British Council.
IELTS preparation lessons are held one-to-one. This lets you focus on exactly those parts of the exam that give you the most difficulty, whether it is Writing or Speaking.
IELTS test structure
The test consists of four compulsory modules. The total duration is 2 hours 44 minutes. There are two formats: Paper-based and Computer-delivered.
1. Listening — 30-40 minutes. Understanding spoken English by ear.
2. Reading — 60 minutes. 3 texts and 40 questions. Differs for the Academic and General modules.
3. Writing — 60 minutes. Includes describing a graph/letter and writing an essay.
4. Speaking — 11-14 minutes. A live conversation with an examiner.
All parts except Speaking are usually taken on the same day. The Speaking part may be scheduled on the same day or within a week before/after the main date.
Exam types: Academic or General?
The choice of module depends on your goal:
• Academic Module — required for admission to higher education institutions and for work in academia.
• General Training Module — required for immigration (Canada, Australia, the UK) and for secondary education or work experience abroad.
An IELTS certificate is valid for two years.
Why is preparation with a professional important?
Although self-study is possible, it often fails to account for the specific IELTS assessment criteria. Our tutors will help you:
• Understand the structure and logic of each part of the exam;
• Learn to write essays to the clear criteria examiners expect;
• Improve your pronunciation and fluency for the Speaking section;
• Get real feedback after taking mock exams.
How to register for the test?
1. Choose a test centre. In Ukraine these are the official partners of the British Council or IDP. Find available dates at this link.
2. Decide on the format. The paper test gives results in 13 days, the computer test in 3-5 days.
3. Pay for the exam. The cost depends on the current exchange rate and the format you choose (check on the test centre's website).
4. Bring your passport. On exam day you must have the same document you used for registration.
Scoring (IELTS Band Score)
Results are scored on a scale from 1.0 to 9.0.
• Band 9 (Expert User): Full command of the language.
• Band 7-8 (Advanced): Very confident command, able to handle complex discussion.
• Band 6 (Competent User): Generally effective use of the language, sufficient for most study programmes.
• Band 5 (Modest User): Partial command, able to communicate at a basic level.
